{"id":985,"date":"2024-07-18T10:53:08","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T10:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/erasmus.duth.gr\/?page_id=985"},"modified":"2024-07-18T10:54:37","modified_gmt":"2024-07-18T10:54:37","slug":"mythical-thrace","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/erasmus.duth.gr\/?page_id=985","title":{"rendered":"Mythical Thrace"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>The main goal of the Programme is to highlight the cultural richness of the region of Thrace and to familiarize students with its mythological background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon successful completion of the course, students will familiarize themselves with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>the use of myths in innovative teaching methods concerning the ancient world<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cuting edge subjects, such as myths and gender, myths in the digital era and myths in European education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>the impact of myths in the shaping of the greco-roman civilization, thus stimulating a sense of common European consciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lectures and seminars:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Myths in the digital era<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Myths and gender: Phyllis, Persephone, Hero and Leander<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Studying the wine myths: Dionysos, Maron, Kikones&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Myths and religion: The Kaviria Mysteries<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. The interdisciplinary use of myths in European secondary education<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Workshop on social and emotional education: Together with a myth!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Lecture on the reception of Orpheus in the Opera from Poliziano to Offenbach<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cultural events:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Workshop at the Ethnological Museum of Thrace<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Visit to the Silk Museum of Soufli<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Cinema: <em>Orph\u00e9e<\/em> by Jean Cocteau (1950)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Visit to the archaeological site and the Archaeological Museum of Samothrace <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.
